Days 26-32: Ruakaka -Warkworth.

From Ruakaka it was a nice walk down the beach accompanied by the Bream Bay school fun run crowd and on to Waipu Cove for the next set of rugby quarter finals. I took the Waipu coastal track round to Laing beach the inland to the start of the Mangawhai heads track and a forest of Pohutakawa. A rest day turned into 2 as the weather turned to monsoon. Great pizza at the Mangawhai Pizzeria. Lucky man was off to see the semi final in Tokyo though the game’s not quite going out way atm. From Mangawhai it was back to a long beach walk with a couple of estuary crossings to Parkiri beach then into the Dome forest. Should be in Auckland on labour day, just my luck the Deep creek brewery in silverdale will be closed so may have to wait until Brown’s bay to have an IPA PROJECT Double IPA and drown the rugby sorrows.
